A bulk of the exposure is of the public sector entities which have together lent close to Rs 19,000 crore to telecom companies. While the total exposure also includes loans to companies whose licences were cancelled by the Supreme Court for their involvement in the 2G scam, Mukherjee said that most the loan accounts were regular as of February 1, 2012 and “by and large secured in the form of various tangible and other securities”.
